Non-Disclosure Of Information By Federated Sales Reps

Federated Canada employs a large number of independent sales reps to market their services. This is common in the industry and not a big deal at all. But the problem is they don’t train their marketing personnel well. They aren’t aware of the technical aspects of the service the company provides. This naturally leads to confusion and hard feelings. Especially in cases where merchants sign up for the service and make the payment.
Besides misinterpreting the clauses by Federated Canada, there have been times when the sales reps have intentionally not disclosed certain clauses, just to get the account, make a commission and then leave. There have been several such cases where Federated Canada has had legal issues with merchants.
It is better to get into a contract with a provider where they deal directly with the merchant. At least there’ll be no misunderstandings and misinterpretations.
Federated Canada should make an earnest effort at educating and training their sales reps. There should be serious penalty for misleading prospective clients and cheating them into signing clauses that they are not comfortable with.
